Depuis 15 ans, Grzegorz Fic officie dans les restaurants les plus prestigieux de Cracovie en Pologne, dont L’Albertina. Découvert par la délégation limougeaude invitée au rassemblement des Villes créatives de l’Unesco l’an passé, le chef étoilé polonais a fait montre de son talent ce week-end à Limoges pour cette 8e édition de Toques & porcelaine.

All Around Nativity Scenes. Walking in Kraków

All Around Nativity Scenes – this year’s event comes under the banner Nativity Scene-Makers for Our City and Our Country, recalling the centenary of Poland regaining its independence in 2018.

As a result of the collaboration between local businesses and the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków with the Krakow Festival Office, you will be able to admire 27 nativity scenes from the museum’s collection, set up in shopfronts throughout the Old Town and beyond. They were all awarded prizes and distinctions in the Kraków Nativity Scene Contest between 1980 and 2007. Additionally, dozens of locations across the city present large (up to two-metretall), double-sided nativity scenes made especially by artists working today. We are pleased to inform you that Albertina Restaurant & Wine is a partner of this event.

We start our walk at the foot of Wawel Hill, at 11 Powiśle Street. We then head along the Royal Route, through the heart of the Old Town and the Main Market Square, towards the Barbican. From there it’s just a few steps to Celestat in the Strzelecki Garden (16 Lubicz Street), hosting this year’s post-contest exhibition.

Eighteen teams have qualified for this year’s 5th Poland Championship of Dessert Making – Expo Sweet 2018, including the team representing ALBERTINA Restaurant & Wine. The championship will take place on 27 February 2018, at the Centrum Expo XXI building in Warsaw at Prądzyńskiego 12/14, during the 10th, jubilee edition of the Expo Sweet.

French style beef by chef Grzegorz Fic

The latest issue of “Nowości Gastronomiczne” magazine includes an article by the chef and co-owner of ALBERTINA Restaurant & Wine Grzegorz Fic:

I have no doubt that beef is cooked in many Polish homes. And it is not surprising, because it’s fantastic, varied taste is appreciated by the best chefs in the world, for example Pierre Gagnaire. This year, during my internship at his restaurant at the Hotel Balzac in Paris, which has three Michelin stars, I noticed that this unquestionable master always combines beef with seasonal fruit, and his menu always includes many unobvious dishes with beef, such as steak in beef tongue gravy or a “surf & turf” idea of serving beef tenderloin with lobster tail.
